Scenes from an early spring weekend in Bavaria

While Germany was busy swooning over our new president, we were out enjoying Germany.

We squeezed in one last sledding trip with the Rendenii (which is where we spotted this guy);

rang in the beginning of asparagus season in a beer garden on the lake;

and then got the balcony garden started.

The sledding looks so fun. Send some snow here please!

Wish we were getting more... alas, this was probably the very end of the season.

the sledding really was so fun; nevertheless, we can now begin our celebration of biergarten season! which is equally likely to result in giggling and bruising.

Okay so everyone I know is dying for spring and here I am thrilled to see that snow. It just doesn't want to cool off around here!

Love the start of your balcony garden. I tried some herbs when we first moved here, but then left for a month and they all died. I decided it wasn't meant to be. :)

Em - beer garden season is definitely in full bloom.

Lori - traveling is the hard part with balcony gardening - you have to find some kind-hearted soul to come do the watering. It's like having a pet! Except only for part of the year, thank goodness...

Kind hearted souls or suckers who live in dank hotels. Was thinking of sending you some local heirloom tomato seeds. What's your postal code?
