Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

From yesterday's Heute (one of the free newspapers in Zurich):

"Welcome to London. As soon as the other passengers have left the aircraft, we will start coming around to pry the remaining Americans out of their seats."

I don't think the Swiss should be making fun of anybody's weight. Mrs. TBF and I have definitely noticed the Swiss becoming heavier over the past couple of years. Six years ago, you saw a fat Swiss person about once per year. Now, you see them everyday, and you see Swiss people who need to lose ten pounds constantly. This was rare even a couple of years ago.
But I agree...Americans are still the heaviest. I'm pretty amazed at what I see when I go back to Chicago.
I used to be one of them.

That is so funny, sad, rude, and so what true.

It makes me shudder just to think about it. The last time I was in the U.S. I saw people, who were to fat to walk, riding around the Mall of America on little motorized tricycles - can't even get what little exercise shopping offers...

The stereotype may be generally true, but it doesn't apply evenly to the whole US-San Francisco seems at least as skinny as Zurich, but St. Louis is pretty close to this...um...representation. Anyway, the joke about the fat American (with perfect teeth) is getting a little stale. . .maybe we should move on to how lousy a public speaker Bush is for a change of pace. Oh, wait, never mind.
